Sometimes the best way to beat lockdown loneliness is to reach out to your friends. Catching up definitely made my day today!

As mental health awareness week draws to a close, always remember someone always has your back. Return the kindness and favour and have their back too. We are all stronger and healthier together.
Elvis was the eldest member of the goat herd at The Haven Zoo. When he first arrived at The Haven, he wasn’t quite sure about his new home and was a bit skittish, but eventually settled into sanctuary life. He was known for his rockin’ hairstyle and made caprine friends with Jim and Bernie. Yesterday, a generous volunteer donated squash and broccoli which Elvis enjoyed.
At the ripe old age of thirteen, Elvis lived a good long, life. Sadly, today he has moved on to a different sanctuary beyond. He passed away being cared for by the loving and dedicated staff at The Haven and beside his pal Bernie. He will be missed by all.
Sometimes it’s the little things in life. A good meal shared with loved ones, a familiar, comfortable, even quirky place to meet up at or return to can help make life a bit fuller and more joyful.
Goats are social animals, much like humans, and enjoy being around the company of others. Although sometimes solitude is nice and can be healing, other times it is good to reach out and find someone to hang out with. I hope if you are reading this that you had a marvelous weekend and a wonderful week ahead.
I came home today to find a magic little box with this adorable glass goat inside. I hope y’all are lucky enough to have a community, neighborhood or village that feels like family.
I am grateful to my friends for always passing along lovely goats
It’s good to own your own weirdness and celebrate your unique you, but also those who get it, appreciate it and stand by your side.
Every now and then you find people who get it.
Make sure to take the time to reconnect with friends face to face. Technology is amazing but so is in person contact.

There is a saying that “Rome was not built in a day” which is absolutely true! It took over a millennia from Rome to expand from a city on the Tiber to an empire reaching from the farthest corners of Europe across the Fertile Crescent and Northern Africa. Most likely, your goal is probably not inter-continental domination, so luckily whatever it is you are trying to accomplish won’t take that long, so keep at it. If it is important to you, then it is absolutely worth the wait.
In addition, today’s goat is a friend of a friend of mine. Her name is Cindy and judging from her easy grin, she quite likes October so far.
The tools to success aren’t always military might and a big budget, but rather patience and perseverance.
Saturdays are great days to hang out with friends.
