See barriers as challenges to overcome and don’t let them stop you from pursuing your dreams is more wisdom and advice on living a long and fulfilling life from yogi Tao Porchon-Lynch. She was first introduced to yoga at the age of seven in 1925, living in southern India. She watched boys practicing yoga on the beach and when she asked older members of her family about it, they told her that yoga was only for boys. This did not deter Tao, she watched the boys and mimicked their actions, eventually practicing herself and becoming a world-renowned yoga teacher, even being named the world’s oldest living yoga teacher by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2012.
If you made a resolution that you have found difficult to keep be patient- changing habits take time. Shift your focus to long term success and don’t worry about being absolute and strict. Achieving goals comes from persistence over time, not perfection.

There is a saying that “Rome was not built in a day” which is absolutely true! It took over a millennia from Rome to expand from a city on the Tiber to an empire reaching from the farthest corners of Europe across the Fertile Crescent and Northern Africa. Most likely, your goal is probably not inter-continental domination, so luckily whatever it is you are trying to accomplish won’t take that long, so keep at it. If it is important to you, then it is absolutely worth the wait.
In addition, today’s goat is a friend of a friend of mine. Her name is Cindy and judging from her easy grin, she quite likes October so far.
Two years ago, I was spending some time on the internet (to be honest, as I do everyday). I came across the most magnificent collection of portraits photographs by Kevin Horan, published in the Guardian. This was before the Goat of the Day blog, perhaps even before I thought about specializing in goat photography and understanding the connection between positive vibes and goats. I was totally inspired, and many people have shared these photographs with me since. One of the best parts about starting Goat of the Day is that people share the goats they come across in their lives or on the internet with me. So, today’s goat of the day comes courtesy of Kevin Horan and the Guardian. I hope that you all find inspiration somewhere this weekend.
It is never too late to try something new or embark on a new adventure. Mondays are a great time to put your new ideas in motion.
Sometimes you just have to go for it and seize and opportunity. Put aside your self doubt and remember that all you need to succeed in this world is already within you.
Sometimes, the best strategy is to detach yourself from the gratification of achievement, but focus on the benefits of the work itself. If you focus too much on the end result, you might miss something amazing along the way.
The world is your runway. Take action, take a step forward, and do so with intention and purpose. The less you worry about what other people think, the less self conscious you will be, and the more wonderful your life will be.
Find someone in this world who you can rest your head on. At the end of the day, a good partner is someone who supports you no matter what, even if you need to take a nap using them as your pillow for a bit.
