The thirty first of December 2019

And so here are the last few hours of the 2010s. The decade for me certainly has had its ups and downs, and I am ready and excited to welcome whatever comes next. In celebration, I have compiled the ten most popular goats of the day from 2019 – which includes two sheep who were featured on April Fool’s Day. I hope wherever you are that you have a fantastic New Year’s Eve and that the new decade brings you peace and prosperity. Thank you for continuing to indulge my hobby of goat photography.

Let go of all doubt and know that you have got what it takes to reach your dreams. Don’t hesitate to put yourself out there and take risks – and never be afraid to fail. Make 2020 the year of going for it – whatever your it is!

As our inboxes fill with ideas about how to improve ourselves for the upcoming new decade, perhaps consider (in contrast to the last post) that you are enough just as you are. Perhaps this is the year where you don’t need to make a resolution or revamp your life. Perhaps this is the year where you celebrate you – just as you are – and trust that you have everything you need already. You are enough.

Is there something you hope to someday accomplish? Imagine if you started working towards that goal now where you could be at this time next year! If it’s worth it then don’t hesitate to get started – if you wait until everything seems perfect the chance might skip you by.

I received some advice for how to handle the holiday. Allow yourself a day of indulgence and go to sleep early. That is exactly what I shall be doing tomorrow! I hope that whatever you are doing, whatever your celebrate, or whatever is going on in your life that you have a wonderful day tomorrow. Be kind to yourself and others, make merry if that’s your thing, if not enjoy the day of suspended reality.

Creativity requires courage to take risks but it is well worth it. Your creation, your art, may uplift and inspire others to be courageous as well.

Although this is a festive time of year it is absolutely ok to not feel festive. Sometimes the holidays can dredge up all sorts of things. Make sure to take time for self care and to allow yourself to feel what you need to feel.

Today is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. In fact, if you live above the Arctic Circle, there will be an entire twenty four hour period of endless night! For some spiritual beliefs, today marks the beginning of the Yule, and in some ancient traditions the solstice represents the birth of the sun from the Moon goddess. Perhaps many of these traditions were absorbed by later Christian groups that invaded Northern Europe. For many, this is day is a wonderful day to turn your attention inward, take stock of things, let go of what no longer serves you and prepare for the transformation to the new year. If you are reading from the northern hemisphere, don’t worry, beginning tomorrow there will be a few more moments of sunlight everyday for about six months.

Today we descend into winter, but don’t worry, wonderful things are on their way.

There are only TEN DAYS left in the entire decade? Can you believe that? Where did the time go? Think about where you were ten years ago and take in all your accomplishments and leave the rest – enjoy the last ten days of the last ten years!

In ten days, 1980 will be forty years ago.
