They say hindsight is 2020 but I say who cares. Focus on the here and now and don’t waste your time worrying about the past.
new year
The thirty first of December 2019
goatsAnd so here are the last few hours of the 2010s. The decade for me certainly has had its ups and downs, and I am ready and excited to welcome whatever comes next. In celebration, I have compiled the ten most popular goats of the day from 2019 – which includes two sheep who were featured on April Fool’s Day. I hope wherever you are that you have a fantastic New Year’s Eve and that the new decade brings you peace and prosperity. Thank you for continuing to indulge my hobby of goat photography.
The twenty ninth of December 2019
goatsAs our inboxes fill with ideas about how to improve ourselves for the upcoming new decade, perhaps consider (in contrast to the last post) that you are enough just as you are. Perhaps this is the year where you don’t need to make a resolution or revamp your life. Perhaps this is the year where you celebrate you – just as you are – and trust that you have everything you need already. You are enough.
The twenty sixth of December 2019
goatsThe week threshold between one year and the next can be quite difficult sometimes. With schedules in flux and lingering between holidays, it is challenging to stave off boredom and anxieties about things to come. You might even find yourself longing for your routine! Fear not, the liminal transition will come to an end soon and an amazing new year will begin.
The twenty ninth of September 2019
goatsToday is Rosh Hashanah – the Jewish New Year. It is a good time to reflect, take a moment to remember all that nourishes you, and rejoice for new opportunities.
The fifth of February 2019
goatsToday is a very important day, because it is the Chinese Lunar New Year. Twenty percent of the world celebrates today as the beginning of the new year and the end of the coldest days! The day does not fall on the same date every year, but always occurs between January 21 and February 20. Generally, it is a day for prayers, fighting monsters, and lighting fireworks. Also, importantly, you should eat dumplings! Every year corresponds to a different animal, and this marks the year of the pig. The next time a year of the goat rolls around won’t be until 2027, but until then we can all enjoy some lovely photos of goats.

People born under the year of the pig are said to be considerate, responsible, independent and optimistic, but are also prone to laziness.
The sixteenth of January 2019
goatsYou can do it, just put one foot in front of the other. Breaking down goals into smaller steps makes them seem less daunting, plus more goals gives you more reasons to celebrate success.

You’ve got this!
The thirteenth of January 2019
goatsWe are now nearly two weeks into 2019. Hopefully, at some point between the holiday festivities, embarking on resolutions and returning to work, you have carved out some much-needed time for rest. Although for many of us (myself included) it is hard not to fill every moment with seemingly important tasks, there are many benefits to devoting ourselves to relaxation. Rest can enhance creativity, productivity and focus. Setting aside time for regular rest can also reduce stress, inflammation and your risk of heart disease. Your sleep and immune system will get a boost from the reduction in sleep. So, never feel guilty for indulging in a lazy Sunday – it will make you a happier, healthier, more creative version of yourself!]

Rest today for a more productive and energized tomorrow!
The seventh of January 2019
goatsDid you survive the first Monday of the year? I took down our Christmas decorations. As special and magical as the festive season can be, I am glad to be back in full to a normal routine.

What is your Monday motivation?
The fourth of January 2019
goatsNew year, new you, find the way to happiness with this diet, this philosophy or a new regime! Alternatively, perhaps the way to actual happiness is to lower our expectations. That doesn’t mean succumbing to mediocrity or giving up on your hopes, dreams and goals. It just means redefining our expectations – pat yourself on the back for getting started, or accomplishing a part of your goal. Or, reflect on all of the good things in your life. Or take a moment to recognise what is going right – you wake up every morning, perhaps enjoy a tasty caffeinated beverage to a world where everyone is connected in some way or another. It’s a wonderful time to be alive!

Low expectations result in few disappointments: today, there is grass, it is green and delicious to someone.
