When things don’t quite seem to be working out the way you planned, just focus on the present moment. There is nothing you can do to change the past, and the future has yet to be written, so just allow yourself to enjoy all the beautiful things of the now.

Find the wonderful in the present and don’t fret over the past

Sometimes you just have to find your opening and sometimes you have to nudge it open yourself. There is always a way forward, even if sometimes it feels like it’s going to be a tight squeeze.

Seriously though, you can do it!

Sometimes life can be really difficult and it can feel very unfair. By no means am I an expert in how to handle every challenge, complication or adversity that we encounter throughout our lives. However, even in the darkest of hours, perhaps when it is time to say goodbye to an ideal or a dream or a reality that must end or will never be, there are always glimmers of hope, like streetlights shining on puddles in potholes. For example, tiny, baby goats.

Life is wonderful but hard, luckily we have the internet and digital cameras to make it a bit brighter.

What is better than a goat of the day? Two goats of the day of course. If you look around enough, you can find abundance in your life. Even if it is something as simple as a collection of photographs of goats.

Some days are two goat days.

It is never too late to start something new or make a big change. Rest today and prepare for new opportunities and developments for the week ahead.

Feel like changing course? To quote a famous shoe, just do it.

When you start out and offer yourself to the universe, keep your mind open to all feedback, and try (although it’s hard) to receive all feedback with gratitude. Even the negative feedback, even the critical feedback. Sometimes we hold onto what we want so much and it’s hard to let go, but once you let go you can make space for newer and better possibilities.

Always search for the open window when it seems like the doors are shut.

Take some time to reflect back on all that you have accomplished. Whatever your journey, or your intended destination, there is no doubt that you have achieved a lot along the way. Be proud of yourself – you deserve it.

No victory is trivial, and every accomplishment should be celebrated! Well done!

There are those people in your live who have the uncanny knack to always pick up right where you left off as though the time you spent apart never happened. I miss a lot of my friends, especially my best friend of over twenty years. Luckily, when I meet up with her, it’s like no time at all has passed. She’s an amazing, brilliant lady. I hope she has a fantastic birthday.

Friends forever through all of life’s ups and downs

It is perfectly acceptable to take up space in the world. You are an amazing and deserving of acceptance and respect. I have been really inspired lately, surprisingly, by recent sports events and want to share an amazing quote from an amazing woman:

Putting yourself out there is hard, but it’s so worth it. I don’t think anyone who has ever spoken out, or stood up or had a brave moment, has regretted it. It’s empowering and confidence-building and inspiring. Not only to other people, but to yourself.

-Megan Rapinoe

Always use your platform to bring positivity and goodness in the world.

Two years ago, I was spending some time on the internet (to be honest, as I do everyday). I came across the most magnificent collection of portraits photographs by Kevin Horan, published in the Guardian. This was before the Goat of the Day blog, perhaps even before I thought about specializing in goat photography and understanding the connection between positive vibes and goats. I was totally inspired, and many people have shared these photographs with me since. One of the best parts about starting Goat of the Day is that people share the goats they come across in their lives or on the internet with me. So, today’s goat of the day comes courtesy of Kevin Horan and the Guardian. I hope that you all find inspiration somewhere this weekend.

Meet Lily, the goat of the day. Maybe one day, I will be so lucky as to take goat portraits in such a setting.
